Pod Insurance ("Pod," "we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it in compliance with this Privacy Policy. This policy describes the types of information we may collect when you visit pod.insure (the "Site"), use our mobile application (the "App"), or otherwise interact with our services (together, the "Offerings").

By accessing or using our Offerings, you agree to this Privacy Policy and consent to the collection and processing of your information as described here. If you do not agree, please do not use our Offerings. This Privacy Policy may change from time to time; continued use after changes indicates your acceptance.

1. When This Privacy Policy Applies

This Privacy Policy applies to information we collect on our Site or App, when you or your authorized representative use the Offerings, and in email, text, or other electronic communications between you and us. It does not apply to information collected by third parties, including through applications, websites, or content that may link to or be accessible from our Offerings.

Personal Information: Information that can identify you, such as your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, date of birth, Social Security number (when required for insurance applications), and beneficiary information.

Health Information: Information about your health status, medical history, prescription medications, and related details necessary to determine insurance eligibility and coverage options. This information is collected solely for underwriting purposes and is handled with heightened security measures.

Financial Information: Payment information such as bank account or payment card details necessary to process premium payments.

Technical Information: Information about your internet connection, device, browser, IP address, and related usage details.

Usage Information: Details about your visits and interactions with our Offerings, including traffic data, logs, pages viewed, and resources accessed.

4. How We Share Your Information

We may disclose your information: to insurance carriers and their authorized representatives to process your application and service your policy; to contractors, service providers, and partners bound by confidentiality obligations who assist us in operating our business; to buyers or successors in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale; to comply with legal obligations or court orders; to enforce our Terms of Use; and with your consent. We may also share aggregated or anonymized information for research, analytics, or marketing purposes.

5. Financial Privacy Notice (GLBA)

As an insurance brokerage, we are subject to the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), which requires us to inform you about our information-sharing practices. We collect nonpublic personal information from your insurance applications, your transactions with us or our carrier partners, and consumer reporting agencies. We do not sell your nonpublic personal information to third parties for marketing purposes. We share information with insurance carriers solely to facilitate your policy application and servicing, and with service providers who perform functions on our behalf under contractual obligations to maintain confidentiality.

6. Health Information

We collect health information through our application questionnaires solely to determine your eligibility for insurance coverage and to obtain quotes from our carrier partners. This information is transmitted securely to insurance carriers for underwriting purposes. We do not use health information for marketing or share it with third parties other than insurance carriers processing your application. Health information is retained only as long as necessary to service your policy or as required by law, after which it is securely deleted or anonymized.

7. SMS and Text Communications

By providing your phone number and opting in, you consent to receive SMS from Pod Insurance. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out.

8. Automatic Data Collection

We may use cookies and other tracking technologies to gather details about your visits, such as traffic and location data, device and browser details, and usage patterns. These technologies help us improve our services, personalize your experience, and recognize you when you return. You may disable cookies in your browser, but doing so may limit certain features.

9. Third-Party Analytics

We use third-party services such as Google Analytics and Meta Pixel to understand usage patterns and improve our Offerings. 10. Data Security

Security is a priority at Pod. We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. Our data centers maintain state-of-the-art physical and logical access controls and undergo frequent third-party audits. All data in transit is encrypted over HTTPS/TLS between you and our servers. All data is encrypted at rest and replicated for durability. Health and financial information is subject to additional access restrictions and monitoring. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection.

11. Data Retention

We retain personal information as long as necessary to provide our services, maintain policy records, or as required by law. Insurance-related records may be retained for the duration of your policy plus applicable statute of limitations periods. Afterward, we securely delete or anonymize the information.

12. Your Privacy Rights

California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to: know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose; request deletion of your personal information (subject to certain exceptions); opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information; correct inaccurate personal information; and not be discriminated against for exercising your rights. Note that certain personal information collected for insurance transactions may be exempt from some CCPA provisions under the GLBA or California Insurance Information and Privacy Protection Act.

Other State Residents

Residents of Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Iowa, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia may have similar privacy rights under their respective state laws, including the right to: access personal information we hold about you; correct inaccurate personal information; delete your personal information; obtain a copy of your data in a portable format; opt out of targeted advertising; opt out of the sale of your personal information; and opt out of profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

If we need additional time, we will notify you of an extension of up to 45 additional days. 13. Your Choices

Global Privacy Control: We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals. When we detect a GPC signal from your browser, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information and targeted advertising.

Cookies: You can disable cookies via browser settings. Promotional Communications: You may opt out of marketing emails by following unsubscribe instructions or contacting us directly. You may opt out of SMS by replying STOP.

14. Third-Party Links

Our Offerings may link to third-party websites or apps, including those of our insurance carrier partners. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Please review their policies before providing information.

15. Children's Privacy

Our Offerings are not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such data without parental consent, we will delete it.

16. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date reflects the most recent changes. For current users, updates will become effective 15 days after posting; for new users, they apply immediately. Material changes will be communicated via email or prominent notice on our Site.
